Cancer Research Wales

All Money Raised is Spent in Wales

About

Cancer Research Wales was founded in 1966 by Dr Ken Davies. Since then we have raised many millions of pounds for research into the treatment and diagnosis of cancer which has benefitted people in Wales and all over the world.

Our own research laboratory is based at the Velindre Cancer Centre at Velindre Hospital, Cardiff – a centre of excellence for the non-surgical treatment of cancer. We also fund other research into cancer at facilities across Wales.

Of all the money we raise, more than 85p in the pound goes directly into cancer research. This money comes from ordinary, generous people all over Wales, the UK and the rest of the world, who help us by leaving us legacies or by making donations. To them we owe an eternal debt of gratitude. Thank you.

And even more donations are raised through the tireless efforts of our volunteers who organise fundraising events and run our chain of award-winning Cancer Research Wales charity shops. To all our volunteers, thank you too.
